Write Your Own Maiden Victory

Promising rising 4yo gelding, Write Your Own opened his account at start no.4 today proving too strong for his rivals at Donald.

Despite being forced to work early and cover some ground, he was allowed to stride up towards the lead with the blinkers on for the first time and relaxed up on the pace. When they cornered jockey Fred Kersley gave him his head and within a few strides he got separation on those giving chase in vain. He dominated the whole way up the straight going to the post to win easily.

Racing on a Soft 7 was not his favourite, so under the circumstances he did a great job made even better by the fact he slipped when he accelerated and gave himself a decent nick to his fetlock joint.

He will go out for a break now that he has that confidence boosting victory and we will bring him back for late- Spring on tracks that will suit and races with better prizemoney.
